You can find out about the history of Docklands here. It takes about 2 hours to see round the museum.You can have a BSL signed tour of the museum. Call 0870 444 3857 to find out more.
There is a café in the Museum shop. It is open everyday.
There is also a restaurant called 1802. It is fully licensed.Tables and chairs are not fixed to the floor.

Getting there

It is 2 minutes walk from the West India DLR and next to the green pontoon bridge.
Parking
There is free accessible parking. It’s best to ring and book a space the day before you go.

Bus
D3, 277, D6, and D8 are the nearest buses.
Tube
(Jubilee Line) – Canary Wharf underground station is about 520 metres from Docklands Museum.
Canary Wharf underground station is accessible for people using a wheelchair.
It also has accessible toilets.Approx 520 meters from the station.
DLR
West India Quay is about 240 metres from Docklands Museum.
West India Quay is accessible for people using a wheelchair.
British Rail
British Rail stations are not close to the Docklands Museum.
It’s best to take a water taxi, the DLR or Jubilee line to get there.

The way through the main doorway is flat from the pavement.
Getting around inside
Everything you need to use here is accessible. All the doorways are 845mm wide.
There is an induction loop.
There are accessible lifts.
The lift doorways are 870mm wide.

There are fully accessible toilets. They are in a unisex area and not locked. The doorways are 845mm wide.
Support and equipment
There are mobility scooters and wheelchairs to use, it’s best to book one before you go.
There are chairs in the exhibition areas. The staff are happy to help.
Registered assistance dogs are welcome.
There are good, clear signs in the museum to help you find your way.
